1905 National Automobile
“Horseless Carriage” built in Mansfield, Ohio – The only car of this make known to exist.
Around 1900 many small buggy companies experimented with horseless carriages or “auto-buggies.” One such company was the Richland Buggy Company located in Mansfield. This firm later became the National Vehicle Company, which produced the National.
The only known surviving National is now on display in the carriage house at Oak Hill Cottage.
